Why This Blog?

In a time when the most prominent homeschooling mom TV is Mrs. Duggar, I think it is important for people to know that other types of homeschoolers exist, especially homeschool moms who may see themselves as very different from America's famous homeschooling family.

Each homeschooling family is different, and not everyone who chooses this educational route does so for religious reasons. Some choose it because their own public district is failing, some choose it because they want to decide what their children learn and when they learn it and others choose it because they have a child who learns better with specialized, one-on-one attention.

Aside from all of that, I want to share my resources and homeschool-related "finds" with other mothers. I spend hours trying to find the best curriculum for my kids and want an avenue to share great deals, tips or programs when I find them. Even though I am a member of forums and co-ops that are filled with great tips and deals, I still find that I come across many new ones on my own.

When I search Google for a homeschool question or specific type of curriculum and come up empty handed,  I realize that there is a need for more homeschool-related information online. I hope to save moms the many hours I have spent looking for programs and information by presenting all of it here, so that they can spend that time educating and loving their children.

Please stick around, as I intend to write reviews of every program my family has or will try, post news on curriculum deals as soon as I find them and share every tip I have. I promise it will be a great and rewarding journey!
